Speaking Task – Level 3
Summative assessment (10%)
Due date: October 2nd 
UN De mentes T.V Program

Task:  You and your partners are invited to the National University UNTelevision in order to share your analysis of a global concern.
Purpose:  Describe a problem its causes, its effects and possible solutions.
Situation:  The Universidad Nacional UNTelevision has a program called ‘UN De mentes’. You and your partners are invited to the program to explain to the tv program viewers about a global concern that you have identified and the idea you have to tackle the issue.
To sucessfully develop this task you should:
1.    Introduce yourself to the viewers: What is your name? What do you study? what are your academic interests? Have you been in a research group? Do you have any job experience?
2.    Discuss the idea that you have to deal with the problem taking into account the following information: What is the problem about?  Why are you interested in this problem? What are the causes of this problem? What are the effects of this problem? What are the possible solutions of this problem?
Criteria to evaluate this task:
You are able to:
20% understand questions about the particular need without much repetition or clarification.
20% answer questions smoothly without much hesitation expressing your ideas clearly and completely.
20% speak without major pronunciation errors, and your pronunciation is clear and accurate.
20% use the vocabulary you need to refer to the particular problem.
20% present ideas with appropriate language choices/construction. You produce the structures to talk about facts, giving suggestions and opinions such as: (1) sentences in simple past, simple present, present perfect, passive voice (2) comparatives, superlatives, quantifiers.
